7 DAYS OF THE WEEK

In the diagram you can see the six days of the week surrounding the seventh day in the center - the Sun-day!

Start at the top, turn clockwise and follow in this order, the symbols for the Moon, Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus and Saturn surrounding the Sun, which stands in the center. Each one is the ruler of one day of the week as follows:

1 - MOON ~ MONDAY (BLUE)
2 - MARS ~ TUESDAY (RED)
3 - MERCURY ~ WEDNESDAY (GREEN)
4 - JUPITER ~ THURSDAY (PURPLE)
5 - VENUS ~ FRIDAY (LIGHT BLUE)
6 - SATURN ~ SATURDAY (LIGHT GREEN
7 - SUN ~ SUNDAY (GOLD in the CENTER)

When you take the Lunar Month and divide it by 4 (representing the Four Elements - Earth, Water, Air and Fire-), you get cycles of 7 days, each with its ruler.

The 5 planets visible to the naked eye, plus Sun and Moon also rule the hours of the day/night - they are the lords of the hours. The first hour at the break of day on Sunday is ruled by the Sun. The second hour is assigned to/ruled by Venus, the third to Mercury, the fourth to the Moon, the fifth to Saturn, the sixth to Jupiter, the seventh to Mars, the eighth to the Sun as the cycle repeats.

Day is considered from sunrise to sunset and Night is from sunset to sunrise - therefore hours are of unequal length - except at the time of the Equinoxes when day and night are of equal length - equally balanced.

7 DIAS DE LA SEMANA

En el diagrama se ven los 6 días de la semana rodeando al séptimo día en el centro. Comenzando desde arriba y girando en sentido de las agujas del reloj tenemos los símbolos para la Luna, Marte, Mercurio, Jupiter, Venus, Saturno rodeando al sol que está en el centro. Cada uno de ellos es regente de un día de la semana:

2 - MARTE - MARTES
3 - MERCURIO - MIERCOLES

Tomando el mes lunar y dividiendo los días por 4 (los 4 Elementos: Tierra, Fuego, Agua y Aire) nos quedan ciclos de 7 días, cada uno con su regente, como vimos arriba.

Los 5 planetas que se ven a simple vista, más el Sol y la Luna, rigen también las horas del día y de la noche. La primera hora al amanecer del domingo tiene como regente al Sol, la segunda hora es regida por Venus, la tercer hora por Mercurio, la cuarta por la Luna, la quinta por Saturno, la sexta por Jupiter, la séptima por Marte y la octava por el Sol y el ciclo se repite.

Se considera al Día desde el amanecer hasta la puesta del Sol y se divide por 12, y la Noche va desde la puesta del Sol hasta la salida del Sol, y se divide por 12, por tanto las horas son desiguales, excepto en los Equinoccio, cuando el día y la noche son iguales, de allí la palabra equinoccio.

As the Moon and the Sun join in the sign of CAPRICORN, they bring us to the 10th stage of our journey, and in a sense, to a culminating point in the cycle of new moons we have been traveling along.

The image for Capricorn is that of a traveler who has seen a glimpse of light at the top of a mountain, and it becomes his goal to reach it. The traveler puts all his effort and concentration into succeeding. Aided by a strong sense of purpose and discipline, he does finally make it all the way to the top.

At the top of the mountain he looks back and takes in all the extent of the path he has come along, the path he has forged, his achievements. He takes a moment to acknowledge all his effort and achievements, and also to acknowledge others who helped him along his way; he learns from his experience, he becomes wiser, has insights about how to administer his energy in the future, how to make his effort and determination more efficient; he embodies the past as a platform to dive into the future, the springboard for what is to come……

So, for us, to align with this Capricorn moment of the zodiac we can:

~~look back at all the goals, projects and dreams that we started out with and then developed along this journey of new moons,

~~acknowledge all the effort and hard work and determination we put into making them real, take note of our achievements, of what we have produced, built

~~maybe we didn’t complete some of our projects along this trail of new moons; in this case let’s take a moment to examine what happened, did we drop the ball, was it not the right time for these projects… let’s get a realistic sense of what happened…

~~and now we can renew our determination, purpose and concentration and put this sense of determination and purpose to work and make a list of the ‘mountains we want to climb’

~~we can also examine and become ‘wiser’ on how we set our goals in life, how we administer the effort we put into achieving them, and how we go about actually reaching our goals

~~and it is a great moment to dedicate some time to being grateful to all those who helped us along the way.

La Luna y el Sol se reúnen en el signo de CAPRICORNIO y nos traen a la estación número 10 de nuestro viaje, y en un sentido a una culminación del ciclo de lunas nuevas que hemos estado transitando.

La imagen para Capricornio es la de un viajero que ha vislumbrado un destello de luz en la cima de una montaña, y su meta es llegar hasta ella. Pone todo su esfuerzo y concentración en lograrlo. Ayudado por un fuerte sentido de propósito y una ferrea disciplina, finalmente llega a la cima.

Mira hacia atrás y abarca todo el camino recorrido, el camino que ha forjado, sus metas y sus logros. Throughout this cycle of New Moons, we have put our projects in motion and we have been doing everything necessary to make them happen, we have faced our challenges and gone deep into understanding them, healing and transforming. Now, with the arrival of the Sagittarius New Moon, we can perceive that there is energy available in the universe to embody the confidence that life itself will bring the answers to our questions, life itself will open the doors of possibilities and, if we can align with this energy of ENTHUSIASM and VISION, we will be ready to see these openings and actively flow through them.

So as you see, after our journey through the deep, intense and transformative waters of Scorpio, this GENEROUS Sagittarius energy helps spark up the fire of our INNER VISION and the DEEPER MEANING of our life journey. Things start coming together, we start seeing the connections between the different stages of our journey, a new sense of understanding grows in us.

SAGITARIO en su forma más abstracta tiene que ver con la CONFIANZA, con desarrollar una CONFIANZA ACTIVA.

A traves de este ciclo de Lunas Nuevas, hemos puesto en marcha nuestros proyectos y hemos hecho todo lo necesario para realizarlos y para resolver los desafíos que se nos han presentado. Ahora, la propuesta de Sagitario es EXPANDIR nuestro horizontes, agregando una cuota de ENTUSIASMO y OPTIMISMO en que la vida misma nos va a proveer algunas de las respuestas y oportunidades que intentamos.

Como ven, después de viajar por las intensidades transformadoras de Escorpio, esta energía GENEROSA y ABUNDANTE nos ayuda a DARLE SENTIDO a la vida, a imprimirle una dirección con sentido a nuestro viaje.

Si logramos sintonizar con esta sensación, vemos que algo se abre, el horizonte se aclara, se amplia para abarcar más posibilidades, aparecen resoluciones que no habíamos contemplado – aparece la “buena suerte”. Sentimos un impulso de energía, un plus de energía.

Tenemos que tomar en cuenta que esta luna nueva que trae estas posibilidades arriba mencionada, coincide justo con el momento en que el planeta Plutón entra en el signo de Capricornio – y esto es muy fuerte, ya que esto le está dando un cimbronazo muy fuerte a todas las estructuras obsoletas, cosa que se ve a nivel mundial (estructuras financieras, económicas, sociales que están tambaleando en este momento). En lo individual, el tema a preguntarse es sobre las estructuras que uno construyó y armó, y ver si están vitales, si tienen energía, si son adecuadas al momento presente y ver si hay ajustes y cambios que para hacer.

En medio de esto, la Luna Nueva en Sagitario trae la posibilidad de alinearse con un impulso de energía de confianza y entusiasmo y desarrollar la VISION necesaria para trazar el rumbo a seguir.

MOMENT OF BALANCE
It is a moment of balance, - poised mid-flight, we can see both the path we have come along during these past months as well as what beckons us forward. We view the intentions we established in Aires, the resources we organized in Taurus, the links and communication we developed in Gemini, the affection and care we included in our life in Cancer, the courage to step out that sparked forth during Leo, the planning and perception of a wider net of reality we glimpsed during Virgo - and now, at the time of the Libra New Moon we contemplate and ponder on where we come from and where we are headed to and find a moment of peace to meditate on any adjustments we may need to make to continue journeying towards our goals, developing our dreams.

OUR BALANCING ACT

The Libra stage of our cycle is the time of our balancing act: How can we travel on with an enhanced sense of balance and harmony in our lives and relationships? Again the time of the New Moon, again the time of the month for introspection, to take a moment to meditate on what this implies for us as we explore the connection of "as above, so below". Let’s take a moment to align with this part of the yearly cycle of new moons and perceive what gift it brings us.

This is the fifth turn along our journey when the Sun and Moon come together, and now they combine in the sign of Leo, bringing a new flavor to the palette we have been exploring.

Leo is a fiery sign, it is the energy of one of action and creativity; its themes are passion, romance and living from the heart. We can feel inspired to shine a light on our true, genuine creativity, and express ourselves with radiance out in the world.

In order to align with this phase that starts up with the Leo New Moon and which lasts all month, you might want to take a moment to check whether you are expressing yourself from the authentic center of your being! What is your passion? Are you engaged in living from the heart? How can you express and develop your creativity in the world? In which areas do you feel you are aligned with your genuine creative spirit? Are there areas of your life where you would like to be more expressive and daring?

¡Pasión por la vida!

Ya es tiempo de la Luna Nueva, momento del mes dedicado a la introspección, donde desde el silencio podemos intentar percibir la conexión que venimos explorando entre los movimientos en el mundo del cielo y las estrellas con lo que sucede aquí en la tierra: “tal como es arriba, así es abajo”. Tomemos un momento para alinearnos con esta parte del ciclo anual de lunas nuevas y percibamos cuál es el don que nos trae.

Este es el quinto tramo del viaje en el cual la Luna y el Sol se reúnen en el cielo en el signo de Leo, trayendo una nueva vibración a nuestra exploración.

Leo es un signo de fuego, contiene energía de acción y creatividad; sus temas son la pasión, el romance y aprender a vivir desde el corazón. Tal vez nos sintamos inspirados a encender la llama de nuestra creatividad genuina, y expresarnos y mostrarnos en el mundo con entusiasmo y vigor, desde nuestro centro.

The Mystery of Caring for and Nourishing!

Today the New Moon in Cancer is the fourth stage of our journey; we enter now the watery realm of Cancer, where the themes have to do with family affairs, affection, care and nurturing.

To align ourselves with this moment of the sun-lunar cycle we can ask the following questions: How do we nurture our children, our loved ones, how do we protect them and provide a safe haven for them to develop and blossom?

And how do we nurture ourselves? How do we care for those aspects that are starting to grow yet are still tender and need to be protected till they can take a firm foothold in this world?

What is our home like? Do we feel comfortable, safe, nurtured and protected in our home? Is it a place where we feel restored, can we rest properly and regenerate our energy there? This month could be appropriate to notice the changes we need to make to feel that our home is both our physical and energetic cocoon. Let’s check each area of the house and perceive what needs to be changed, rearranged, fixed or simply enjoyed!

If the energy of affection, caring and loving joy flow with ease in our homes, this may also apply to the rest of our life and everything we do

El Misterio de Cuidar y Nutrir!

Hoy, la Luna Nueva en el signo astrológico de Cáncer es la cuarta etapa de nuestro viaje, y entramos en el reino acuático de Cáncer, donde los temas que aparecen de relieve son temas familiares, el mundo del afecto, cuidado y nutrición.

Las preguntas que podemos hacernos para alinearnos con este momento del ciclo sol -lunar, son: ¿Cómo nutrimos a nuestros hijos, a nuestros seres queridos, cómo los protegemos y brindamos resguardo seguro para que puedan desarrollarse, crecer y florecer sus talentos?

Y ¿Cómo nos nutrimos a nosotros mismos? ¿Cómo cuidamos y albergamos esas partes nuestras que comienzan a crecer pero que son aun tiernas y necesitan protección para poder afirmarse en este mundo?

¿Cómo sentimos nuestro hogar? ¿Estamos cómodos allí? ¿Nos sentimos seguros, nutridos y protegidos en nuestra vivienda? ¿Es un lugar en el cual podemos recuperar energía, podemos descansar y regenerar nuestra energía allí? Quizás este mes sea el momento para darnos cuenta cuáles son los cambios necesarios para sentir que nuestro hogar es un capullo físico y energético que nos contiene. Hagamos un recorrido por la vivienda, sintiendo y percibiendo cada ambiente, y veamos qué necesitamos cambiar, arreglar, reparar ¡o simplemente disfrutar!

Si la energía de afecto, cuidado y dicha fluye con facilidad y sin trabas por nuestra casa, quizás esto se aplique al resto de nuestra vida y a todo lo que hacemos.

Today, June 3rd 2008, the Sun and the Moon travel together in Gemini, the third aspect of the trip that started out with the New Moon in Aries where the time was ripe for new beginnings, new directions and impulses. Then came the Taurus New Moon, a time to gather the resources needed to develop those projects – both physical and energetic. Now we arrive at the Gemini New Moon, a time to make connections, to become agile and nimble. It is the time to develop flexibility, adaptability and to learn to be lighter and most important: to make all kinds of connections. To look for information in books, the internet, to contact others, to make short trips, and develop nimble communication channels that have the fluidity to bring movement to our project or projects.

Today, May 5, 2008, the Sun and the Moon travel together in the sky, from our perspective here on Earth, so there is no moon in the night sky. This night of the new moon draws us to an introspective mood, entices us to look inwards and glance at those things we put into action with the Aries New Moon, the moon of fiery impulse. Now this EARTHY NEW MOON in TAURUS is the moment to contemplate on how to give substance to all this outburst of activity, to our plans, actions, and endeavors.

The focus of this new moon in Taurus is on how to handle our resources, physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual or energetic.

The issues and decisions revolve around being truly in touch with our body and asking ourselves how much rest we need, what food is healthy and will nourish and prepare us for this journey along the TRAIL OF NEW MOONS. What are the feelings and ideas that relax us and make us strong and resilient. What are the energetic or spiritual resources we need to gather for this journey.

Some of you told me that after the Aires New Moon many different projects sprung up and you are enthusiastic about participating in all of them, but you are starting to freak out because you don’t know how you are going to handle all of them. Now, during this new monthly cycle starting with the Taurus New Moon, it is the time to map out your resources and plan how to gather energy necessary for this journey, starting out with the basics in life, seeing that you get the sleep, rest and pauses and nourishment that you need, organize your money and budget, to be clear in that area, filtering out any emotional or mental issues that may be sapping your energy and replenishing your stock with enjoyable and healthy activities and ideas.

We can make contact with the earth, do some gardening, prepare a nourishing meal, do some drumming and connect to the rhythm of the earth, make a sound economic transaction, go for a walk in nature, fill our senses with all the world has to offer us!

Esta noche sin luna nos jala hacia la introspección, nos invita a mirar hacia adentro y dar una mirada a todo lo que pusimos en acción con la luna nueva en Aries, esa luna de fuego e impulso. Ahora esta LUNA NUEVA de TIERRA en TAURO es el momento de hacer una pausa y contemplar cómo dar sustancia a nuestros planes, acciones, proyectos.

El foco de esta luna nueva en Tauro está en cómo manejar nuestros recursos ya sea físicos, emocionales, mentales, y espirituales o energéticos.

Los temas y las decisiones incluyen estar genuinamente en contacto con nuestro cuerpo y preguntarnos cuánto necesitamos descansar, cómo hacer para alimentarme de manera saludable y placentera para prepararnos para este viaje a lo largo del RASTRO DE LUNAS NUEVAS. Hoy, 6 de abril, es la Luna Nueva en Aries 2008, el comienzo de un ciclo de doce lunas nuevas, cada una un signo distinto del zodiaco y trayendo un mensaje energético distinto. A map of possibilities

In ancient times, as people turned their gaze up to the stars, they started to find connections between the movements and placements of the stars, the Sun, the Moon, the planets and their own lives and their environment. Thus Astrology began to develop, this ancient way of perceiving connections between the sky and stars, and the events in one’s own life. Ancient astronomers charted out the sky as a wheel and divided it into 12 equal parts, each containing a different constellation and a different energetic quality or function. In this way the zodiac and its 12 signs were born: Aires, the energetic quality of taking action, Gemini energy of communication, Cancer energy of nourishment, etc. These astronomers of antiquity also charted out the wheel of the Earth into 12 parts: the houses of experience through which we access the wheel of the sky. Then, in the perception of “As above, so below,” as stated by Hermes Trismegistro, they developed the natal chart – a ‘mandala’ of each person’s unique “star configuration” – each person’s specific map of the solar system and constellations at the moment of birth. ≈≈ Although Astrology has been known for its predictive use, telling of the “bad” and “good” things that would befall us, in our current age, Astrology has more and more become a tool for personal growth and evolution, the natal chart being viewed as a map of the inherent possibilities and challenges we each bring with us at the moment of our birth.

Astrology – a tool for personal empowerment

In this manner, many present day astrologers guide consultants in becoming aware of these possibilities and challenges, free from judgment and the interpretation of good or bad, benefic or malefic, -- seeking to understand the deeper, evolutionary meaning of each one’s natal map, and, envisioning new, creative ways to help one deal with moments of change and to find new, empowering options.

We can ask ourselves how it is that we, men and women, have expressed over time, these energetic qualities of the signs. Take for example Aries the first sign of the zodiac with its energetic function of action, initiating, starting up, moving forward, the energy of impulse and the daring to act instantly on a decision, a dream, a purpose. In the body it is the blood rushing through our veins; it is the moment we take a step forward, the initiating step. Historically we have embodied this outgoing energy along a spiral or spectrum that goes from being warlike, fighting, wanting to win at all cost, being aggressive, to being competitive, being impulsive, being brave, standing up for our convictions, being courageous, daring to set out to explore and scout new unchartered lands, having the impetus to act on our decisions, the courage to stand up for our convictions.


Stuck in the groove or jump the groove creatively

These patterns of behavior have created grooves in the collective unconscious and are the basis on which predictions are made. As an astrologer, I study these grooves of archetypal behavior and strive to uncover the deep energetic meaning of the alignments on each person's natal chart. Together we explore the events in each one's life and relationships – seeking ways to “jump the groove”, to move out of repetitive behavior, to find new, creative ways to think, act and feel – ultimately ways that empower each individual.

En épocas antiguas, cuando la gente contemplaba las estrellas, comenzaron a encontrar conexiones entre los movimientos de las estrellas, el Sol, la Luna, y los planetas, y lo que sucedía en el entorno. De esta manera comenzó la Astrología, una manera de percibir las conexiones entre el cielo y las estrellas y los eventos de la vida de uno. Los astrónomos antiguos trazaron un mapa del cielo y lo dividieron en una rueda de 12 partes iguales, cada parte conteniendo una constelación diferente de estrellas con cualidades o funciones energéticas diferentes. De esta manera nacieron el zodiaco y los 12 signos: Aries, la cualidad energética de tomar acción, Géminis, energía de comunicación, Cáncer, energía de nutrición y cuidad, etc. Estos astrónomos de la antigüedad, también trazaron un mapa de la tierra, una rueda dividida en 12 partes: las casas de experiencia terrestre a través de las cuales accedemos a la rueda del cielo. Luego, en la percepción de “Como es arriba, es abajo” planteado por Hermes Trismegisto, desarrollaron la carta natal – un ‘mandala’ de la ‘configuración de estrellas’ única de cada persona – una instantánea del cielo y la tierra al momento de nacimiento de cada persona.

Aunque la Astrología se conoce mayormente por su uso para hacer predicciones, alegando las cosas ‘buenas’ y ‘malas’ que nos pueden pasar, en esta época presente, la astrología se ha transformado en una herramienta de crecimiento personal y de evolución; la carta natal se ve como un mapa de posibilidades y desafíos posibles que cada uno de nosotros trae al momento de nacer.

La Astrología – una herramienta de desarrollo del poder personal

De esta manera, muchos astrólogos de hoy en día, guían a sus consultantes para que sean concientes de estas posibilidades y desafíos, -- y libres de juicios y de la interpretación de los eventos de vida como buenos o malos, benéficos o maléficos, -- buscan entender el sentido más profundo y evolutivo del mapa natal de cada uno, e intentan envisionar nuevas maneras creativas para enfrentar los momento de cambio y encontrar opciones nuevas que despierten el desarrollo del poder personal de cada uno.

Repetir el surco o dar el salto creativo

Podemos preguntarnos como es que nosotros, hombres y mujeres, hemos expresado a lo largo del tiempo, estas cualidades energéticas de los signos, cómo nos hemos alineado con estas energías. Tomemos por ejemplo a Aries, el primer signo del zodiaco con su cualidad energética o función de acción extrovertida, inicio, poner en marcha, arrancar, energía de impulso y el riesgo de la actuar inmediata. En el cuerpo es la sangre que corre por las venas; es el momento del paso inicial. Históricamente hemos expresado esta energía siguiendo un espectro o espiral que va desde ser guerreros, peleadores, competitivos, impulsivos, a ser valientes, arriesgarnos a explorar, tener el ímpetu para actuar sobre una decisión, el coraje de pelear por nuestras convicciones.

Estos patrones de comportamiento han creado surcos en el inconciente colectivo y son la base sobre la cual se formulan las predicciones. Como astróloga, yo estudio estos surcos de comportamiento arquetípico humano y busco descubrir el sentido profundo y energético de los alineamientos en la carta natal de las personas que me consultan. Juntos exploramos los eventos de vida – buscando maneras de ‘saltar el surco’, de salir del comportamiento repetitivo, y encontrar nuevas manera de pensar, actuar y sentir – respuestas creativas a las vivencias de cada uno.
